Did you know?
- This velodrome opened in 1994. It was the first indoor track in all of Britain!
- The British team trains right here. Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny and Laura Kenny all raced on this track on their way to Olympic gold!
- The World Championships have come here three times, in 1996, in 2000 and in 2008.
- In 1996, Chris Boardman rode more than fifty-six kilometres in one hour on this track. Nobody beat that for more than twenty-five years!
- A huge steel arch, longer than a football pitch, holds up the whole roof. So there are no posts in the way when you watch!
- People call this the busiest velodrome in the world. Thousands of people learn to ride the track here every year, and lots of them are kids!
The race announcer tells riders these facts at National Cycling Centre.

In Watt Fighters you race here on your own bike, on a smart trainer or with a power meter. Your watts move your rider round the track. On the steep bends you need speed, or you slide down the banking.
