What you need to play Watt Fighters
- You need a bike on a smart trainer, or a bike with a power meter. It has to send its power over Bluetooth. Most new ones do: look for Bluetooth on the box.
- You need a computer near the bike, with Chrome or Edge. See what your computer needs.
- A heart rate monitor or a cadence sensor is welcome if you have one. The game shows what they read, but you can race without them.
Two riders can race each other on one computer, each on their own bike.
To race without a bike, press Race here, then choose Couch instead of Bluetooth under Power from. On a computer you use the keys: W and S for more and less power, and hold D to sprint. On a phone or a tablet you tap Harder and Easier, and hold Sprint. A couch race is practice. It never changes your profile, your FTP or your results. It isn’t saved with your rides or replays, it doesn’t count toward moving up out of Cat 5, and it never goes to Strava. Couch races are on your own device only, never online.
Watt Fighters runs in Chrome or Edge. This is what a Windows computer needs.

A Mac or a Chromebook needs about the same.
A computer with an Intel Celeron, Pentium or N100 processor is often too slow for a smooth race in 3D.
When a computer is slow, the race draws the picture a little less sharp and makes the shadows simpler, so the race keeps running smoothly. When the race runs smoothly again, the picture gets sharp again.
A desktop computer often has no Bluetooth. A small USB Bluetooth adapter adds it.
We haven’t tried Watt Fighters on many computers yet, so this is our best guess. If the race doesn’t run smoothly on yours, press Tell us what you think and tell us which computer you have.
