Time trial

How does a time trial work?

You ride a set distance as fast as you can, from a standing start. You can choose 500 m, 750 m, 1 km, 2 km, 3 km and 4 km.

Against another rider, each of you starts on your own side of the track. The faster time wins, and catching the other rider wins too.

You start in a start gate. Stop pedalling once you are in it. A clock counts down 50 seconds. It beeps at 30 and at 10 seconds, then every second from 5. Push off on the long beep at 0.

If you push off before the long beep, that is a false start, and every rider goes back into the gate. A second false start puts you out of the race. It works the same in online races.

You can race the time trial at every velodrome in Watt Fighters: see the 20 velodromes.
